Oava was founded by Meg Burk in 2025 as a revitalization of her branding studio (formerly By Meg Burk, established in 2020). By Meg Burk now exists solo as a font foundry.

As a designer and a founder/business owner, Meg realized that operating solely under her name made her feel limited in stylistic and business choices. Meg launched Oava in Q2 2025, opening the doors to fresh business growth and creative opportunities.
She studied 2D animation, marketing, and business, ultimately graduating in 2016 with a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Meg (aka Meghan) thrives in life when work is creative and life feels sunsoaked and rewarding. She enjoys a slow but energetic life.
